Research Training Program Changes

In November Federal Parliament passed changes to the way in which research training is funded at Australian Universities. Part of these changes involved changes to the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) scholarships as well as International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) and Research Training Scheme (RTS) funding.

All universities will be required to send out letters to their research students explaining these changes. While the changes are anticipated to be mostly positive there is a concern that some students will have questions about these changes and the policy changes that need to be put in place.

The Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) has put together a 2 page digest to help answer these questions. There is also a number of links that will lead you to further information.
